Overview:

Accelerate Prosperity (AP) hosted the “Promoting Innovation By Navigating Policies and Regulations For a Tech-Driven Gilgit Baltistan” policy workshop at its co-working space in Gilgit on August 29, 2023. The event was designed to create an enabling environment for the growth of startups and early-stage businesses in the information technology sector in Pakistan, specifically within the Gilgit Baltistan (GB) region. The policy workshop brought together key public and private sector stakeholders to collectively address the regulatory and policy challenges faced by the local entrepreneurial community.

Event Highlights:

• Panel Discussions: The workshop featured panel discussions with experts in the field, addressing various aspects of policy and regulation relevant to the tech industry in Gilgit Baltistan.

• Entrepreneurial Insights: Local entrepreneurs had the opportunity to share their on-ground challenges and experiences, allowing stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of the issues they face.

• Interactive Workshops: Interactive sessions allowed participants to collaborate and brainstorm solutions to address the regulatory and policy challenges in GB.

Outcomes:

Following the policy workshop, AP will develop a comprehensive policy brief that will encompass the key findings and recommendations from the event. This policy brief will serve as a valuable resource for ecosystem players and public stakeholders involved in shaping regulations and policies that support innovation and growth in the information technology sector within Gilgit Baltistan.
