Certification in Sustainable Innovation (CSI) is a national incubation program by Accelerate Prosperity aimed at advancing and supporting climate-conscious innovation in Pakistan.

The program seeks to empower early-stage and post-revenue businesses developing green or greening solutions by helping them overcome barriers such as limited funding, lack of technical expertise, and weak market linkages. CSI focuses on enabling the deployment and commercialization of impactful, tech-enabled solutions that respond to the climate crisis and to accredit the certification from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.

Components of Certification in Sustainable Innovation (CSI)

CSI offers a comprehensive and hands-on incubation journey designed to support climate-conscious entrepreneurs in scaling their solutions. The program is structured around the following key components:

Virtual Accelerate Courses

Participating businesses will gain access to five core self-paced learning modules through Accelerate Prosperity’s Learning Management System (LMS), covering:

  • Business Modeling
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Financial Modeling
  • Pitch Making
  • Investor Relations

In-person Expert-led Training Sessions

NUST will host a 3-day in-person training focusing on:

  • Sector-specific trends and insights
  • Integration of sustainable innovation in traditional business models
  • Practical sessions on financial modeling and sustainability frameworks

One-on-One & Theme-Based Expert Sessions

Startups will receive 2–3 customized virtual sessions providing:

  • Deep-dive discussions tailored to their thematic area
  • Strategic and technical guidance from subject matter experts

Access to Labs and Product Testing Facilities

Participants will receive access to NUST’s labs and facilities for product development and testing for a period of 3 months, supporting real-world innovation and iteration.

Accredited Certification

Startups completing the program’s credit hours and requirements will be awarded the Certification in Sustainable Innovation, jointly accredited by Accelerate Prosperity, NUST, and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.

Access to Co-Working Spaces

Participants can utilize AP and partner co-working spaces across Pakistan, subject to availability, fostering collaboration and ease of working.

Market Linkages & Alumni Network

Businesses will become part of the AP alumni community, enabling:

  • Access to networking events and investor meetups
  • Exposure to potential sales channels and customer bases

Selection Criteria

Strong interest in the sector and the solution being proposed.
Business Criteria A unique and innovative business model with potential for causing or contributing to a transformative effect in green/greening sector, specifically in terms of improving quality of services, increasing access, convenience and/ or affordability using sustainable practices. A clear market niche, sound target market and customer base. Realistic competitive advantage in terms of price, quality and easy/ large access. Strong revenue and profit models, potential for scalability and growth. Strong value chain effect. The business demonstrates positive environmental and sustainable development (impact) effect. Personal Criteria Strong entrepreneurial traits, including (but not limited to) leadership qualities, risk taking, street smartness, ability to do more with less etc. Coachable team, including (but not limited to) openness to advisory, learn, ability and openness to constantly iterate, adapt and evolve based on changing conditions, realities or assumptions etc. Past experience in doing business, or as an employee in a similar industry, or subject matter expertise relevant to the product/ service. Strong interest in the sector and the idea/ business being proposed, with significant skin in the business. Selection Criteria
