Accelerate Prosperity is a global initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network which aims to promote entrepreneurship and the creation of sustainable Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs), with a focus on youth and women in fragile contexts. AP complements broader economic-related programs of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and draws significantly on technical expertise from other AKDN institutions, whilst coordinating efforts with AKDN’s financial institutions, the University of Central Asia and other partners.   

The ultimate outcome of the AP initiative is to contribute to inclusive economic development by catalyzing SGBs, promoting entrepreneurship amongst women and youth, and creating space and networks to facilitate technical expertise and creative financial solutions that can bridge the gaps between entrepreneurs, investors, governments and donors. 

1. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 

Accelerate Prosperity is looking to procure an event management and marketing firm to provide end-to-end event management and marketing services for an upcoming 2-day event in Karachi.  The event is a part of AP’s post-incubation and acceleration services and aims to bring together Accelerate Prosperity’s promising portfolio startups and some of the most influential investors from across Pakistan onto a common platform. This event will facilitate startups in showcasing their innovative ideas, products, and services to potential investors, thereby fostering an environment of collaboration, networking, and external funding. 

1. EVENT OBJECTIVES 

As a component of AP’s post-incubation and acceleration services to startups and small and growing businesses, this event aims to: 

• Connect Startups and Investors: Facilitate meaningful connections between startups and potential investors. 
• Facilitate Raising of External Funding: Assist startups in securing necessary funding for growth and development. 
• Knowledge Exchange: Provide a platform for knowledge sharing and learning among entrepreneurs. 
• Visibility of AP-Supported Businesses: Enhance the visibility of startups and SGBs that are part of AP’s pipeline and portfolio with the entrepreneurial ecosystem. 
• Networking: Foster valuable networking opportunities among event participants including entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors etc.  

• B2B Linkages: Facilitate potential business-to-business collaborations. 
• Exposure: Ensure participating startups and SGBs gain exposure to a wider audience.   

3. SCOPE OF SERVICES

AP requires the selected event management and marketing firm to execute on-ground logistics and marketing of the complete event, in accordance with AP’s plan and event objectives. The firm is expected to ensure the event is well-organized and successful in achieving its goals, including but not limited to: 

• Event execution  
• Venue selection, booking, and setup 
• Marketing and promotion strategies 
• Comprehensive logistics and operations 
• Production of event materials and collateral 

• On-site event management and coordination 
• Event coverage (video, photography) 
• Post-event marketing efforts

4. CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT

This TOR outlines the key expectations and responsibilities of the selected event management and marketing firm. The firm will be contracted based on the fulfillment of these TOR requirements, and a formal contract will be established, detailing terms, conditions, and payment. 

6. PROJECT TIMELINE

The event is scheduled to take place in Karachi in late November – early December 2023. The selected firm should adhere to the agreed-upon timeline, starting from the contract award date to the successful completion of the event. 

7. SELECTION CRITERIA

The selection of the event management and marketing firm will be based on factors such as: 

• Financial bid  

• Relevant experience in organizing networking events with startups and the local business community.  
• Company portfolio showcasing capacity to meet the objectives outlined in this TOR. 

5. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Interested event management and marketing firms are invited to submit their detailed proposals in response to this TOR. The submission should include details of their capabilities through a portfolio, relevant experience, proposed approach, and a financial bid (inclusive of all taxes and costs).
